After owning and operating Hawaiian House Inc., Hawaiian House Cafe, and Hawaiian Isles Soap and Candle Company for a long period, designer and entrepreneur Sam Szabla moved from Kauai, Hawaii, to the American mainland. Settling in Beverly Hills, California, in August 2002, Sam Szabla joined the team at Delano and Seymour Inc. as a Buyer and Designer for their line of home products. Having created and developed his own brand of home furnishings and accoutrements through Hawaiian House, Sam Szabla sold his brand to Delano and Seymour in 2002 and stayed on to ensure the continued innovation and success of its products. Sam Szabla involved himself in the design of furniture home accessories and textiles for the Southern California-based retailer, accomplishing a sell-out of 88 percent of his products within his first 60 days with the firm.

Earning multiple accolades for his work at Delano and Seymour, Sam Szabla became a recognized name in the interior design industry. In 2002, Sam Szabla won the Man of Design Hawaii Award, followed by the Paris American Design Award in 2004. Sam Szabla maintained productive relationships with factories in India and China and closely monitored the quality and standards of his merchandise. Above all else, Sam Szabla remained dedicated to manufacture attractive and trend-setting housewares at reasonable prices. Product lines created by Sam Szabla for Delano and Seymour include the Delano Slip Cover Sofa Collection, the Seymour China Collection, and the Hawaiian House Royal Collection. Over the course of three years, Sam Szabla brought affordable design and appealing furnishings to patrons of Delano and Seymour around the world. Sam Szabla has operated numerous businesses in Hawaii, California, and Florida, and is now an exclusive designer and buyer for Hibiscus Island Home LLC in Miami Beach, Florida.
